How do I become an approved sponsor?
To sponsor an employee, your business must apply for Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS) approval. We guide you through the application process and ensure compliance with all requirements.
What are my obligations as an employer sponsor?
As a sponsor, you must comply with workplace laws, pay the market salary rate, and meet sponsorship obligations, such as monitoring visa conditions and reporting changes to the government. We help you stay compliant.
Can I sponsor an employee on a temporary or permanent visa?
Yes! We assist businesses in sponsoring employees under various visa categories, including Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) and permanent residency pathways such as the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186).
What is the minimum salary requirement for employer-sponsored visas?
Salaries must meet the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) – ( $73,150 as of Jily 2024) and the market rate for the occupation. We help ensure your business meets these requirements.
Can I sponsor someone if my business is new or small?
Yes, but your business must prove financial capacity and a genuine need for the position. We can assess your eligibility and advise on the best approach.

What visas can I apply for under employer sponsorship?
Common employer-sponsored visas include:
- Skills in Demand Visa (Subclass 482) – Allows you to work for an approved employer in Australia.
- Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa (Subclass 186) – A permanent visa for skilled workers.
- Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 494) – A pathway for skilled workers to work in regional Australia.

What are the eligibility requirements for an employer-sponsored visa?
You must, at minimum:
- Have a job offer from an approved employer.
- Possess the required skills and qualifications for the nominated occupation.
- Meet English language, health, and character requirements.
We’ll review your profile and job offer/position to check for eligibility.
Can an employer-sponsored visa lead to permanent residency?
Yes! Some employer-sponsored visas provide a direct pathway (subclass 186) or a pathway to PR (subclass 494).
Can I switch employers while on a sponsorship visa?
Yes, but your new employer must be an approved sponsor and nominate you for a new visa before you can start working for them. We can advise on the transition process.
